What is CBT-I?

​​​Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is the gold standard intervention for chronic insomnia which includes a range of proven techniques to restore sleep and daytime functioning. Insomnia is one of the most common sleep disorders characterised by difficulty initiating sleep, maintaining sleep and/or waking too early.

I will always be so grateful for being introduced to Dr. Romano, who successfully helped me through terrible insomnia.  I was referred to her following a cycling accident, where I suffered a brain injury and developed insomnia.  For nearly 3 years, I unsuccessfully tried many treatments and approaches from different doctors.  Dr. Romano helped me understand insomnia and clearly laid out a treatment program designed to work at my pace.   I believe her nuanced and extremely compassionate approach set her apart and made the treatment successful.
